Getting you to graduation is just the start. The SFLA is structured to set you up for financial freedom beyond the four walls of the classroom.

Requirements for the SFLA

  • Eligible Institutions: Attend an eligible institution. Check if your school is eligible here (hyperlink “here” to the list of eligible schools).
  • Qualifying Major: Pursuing a major that is listed on the list of eligible majors per the respective school.
  • FAFSA Status: Complete the FAFSA or an acceptable state aid application that is approved by the student’s school.
  • Class Level: :  Be classified as a junior or senior for the academic year being funded.
  • Enrollment: : Be enrolled full-time for the semester of application. Exceptions may be granted for students in their final year who require less than full-time enrollment to complete their bachelor’s degree.
  • Degree: Be pursuing a degree in an approved program at your school. See the list here (hyperlink to list of majors).
  • GPA: Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Social Security: Have a valid Social Security Number.
  • Citizenship Status: Be a U.S. citizen. International students or foreign exchange students on a non-immigrant visa are not eligible.
  • Age: Be of the age of majority in their state of residence.
